BIC and IMAP accounts on Netscape 4.7 and lower.

STEP 1: Finding the 'Netscape: Preferances' window
In the menu bar of netscape click on edit then select preferances
STEP 2: Adding a mail account
In the 'Netscape: Preferances' window:
* Open the Mail & Newsgroups Category
* Select Mail Servers

STEP 3: IMAP hostname
Server Name: should read imaphost.bic.mni.mcgill.ca
* You are not obligated to have your password remembered this is a matter of your connivence.

Advanced settings:

If you are seeting up you email for you home computer or wish to craete IMAP folders complete the following steps

STEP 4: Getting email from out side the BIC
To get your email from home you must have the Use secure connection(SSL). selected
* no other setting need to be changed.

STEP 5: IMAP Folders
You may wish to keep your mail on the mail server:
Make a directory in your home directory and enter the location in the "IMAP server directory" ( e.g. /home/bic/dale/IMAP )
* Do not change anything else on this tab
* This allows you to get your mail via imap from any location.
