Introduction
I am a 33-year old British PhD student in my final year of studies with the laboratory of Dr Alan Evans.
I am looking for a post-doctoral position in which I can bring my knowledge of in brain imaging analysis methodology to a more clinical setting. Specifically, I have a developing interest in neuro-psychoanalysis and would be keen to work with a lab involved in the functional imaging of mood and anxiety disorders. This would bring my research career more into alignment with psychoanalytic training at the Montreal Psychoanalytic Association.
Research Background
PhD Biomedical Engineering, McGill Canada.
Surface Registration and Clustering for Multivariate Analysis of Cortical Measurements
My work focused on measurement, alignment and multivariate analysis of features from structural MRI volumes. Image processing pipeline stages that I extended include:
- non-uniformity correction (new iterative algorithm)
- surface mesh fitting (hemisphere separation, local morphological correction)
- non-linear volumetric registration (template generation)
- non-linear surface registration (new process and new template generated)
- cortical segmentation (new algorithm)
- feature extraction (new pipeline)
- Also experimented extensively with different multivariate analysis strategies (PCA, ICA, unsupervised clustering, SVM classification, jack-knifing etc).
- Developing interest in rtFMRI and neuropsychoanalysis
