Objective

This project was designed in conjunction with the International Consortium of Brain Mapping (ICBM)[1]. The specific goal of the ICBM project is the development of a population-based digital probabilistic atlas of the human brain with a reference system in stereotaxic space. In order to produce such an atlas, a starting template was needed. The objective of this project was to create a completely space-filling atlas of a high resolution MRI, with every voxel labeled by a neuroanatomist. This template would then be used to automatically segment a large number of MRI and then in turn used to create the probabilistic atlas.
