MR Corticometry

• our lab has defined the most reliable metric out of 6 possible metrics of cortical thickness:

  • (1) distance along the surface normal (tnormal),
  • (2) distance along iteratively computed surf. normal (tlayered-normal);
  • (3) distance toward nearest point in the opposite surface (tnear),
  • (4) distance along a line that is the average of the nearest point measured from each side (taverage-near)
  • (5) distance between linked, nodes on each surface (tlink)
  • (6) the distance dictated by the Laplacian equation (tlaplace),
