A prototype neuronavigation system called IBIS NeuroNav is currently under development in our research group. Through the years I have participated in many aspects of its developement, accuracy evaluation and testing in the operating room. My current research focuses on image-guided brain tumor surgery. Here are some aspects on which I have worked in the past years:

  • Neuronavigation: patient registration, optical tracking systems, tool calibration.
  • Medical image processing:
    • Ultrasound: probe calibration, 3D reconstruction, US-US registration, MRI-US registration.
    • MRI: normalization, segmentation, classification, surface rendering, atlas creation, rigid and non-rigid registration.
  • I also have experience with the processing of DTI, PET, fMRI and CT.
