As you may know our old web page was antiquated and its replacement, while better looking, was no easier to use.

Marta Kersten (a PhD student in Louis’ lab) has been working on transferring the Bic Web Page from a hard to use, hard to maintain database-based web page to a hopefully easier to maintain, easy to use, user-driven, wiki-based web page. The goal is to have

  • a few key people maintain the main pages of the web site
  • one person per lab that will control a lab’s web pages
  • individual users edit and maintain the majority of pages that describe their work.

Our aim is to have a living web document that we can populate with content and keep up to date. Louis’ lab tested the system last week in the first phase of deployment of the Web Pages. Four other labs within the BIC will be testing the system this week. The goal is to have a public release ready for the second half of April 2009.
