Motion Artifact Failure
There are a few notable signs of motion artifacts that can be quickly gleaned from QC:
1. T1 images:
- Ripples or curved lines, often most evident in the coronal or horizontal views.
2. CLASP surfaces:
- White surfaces may be jagged, thick, and/or include skull or meninges.
- Grey surfaces may be “puffy.”
3. Cortical thickness maps:
- May be generally thin/blue, or other abnormal color variations.
4. Surface parcellation:
- There may be errors, especially in the division between frontal and parietal lobes along the central sulcus.
5. Surface-surface intersections:
- There will likely generally be a high number (and high visibility) of surf-surf intersections, in pink.
