The atlas was derived from a single set of serial histological data * Multi-modal image registration, particularly histology-to-MRI registration, and intra-operative electrophysiological recordings to MR * Pre-operative surgical planning techniques involving atlas-to-patient registration * Volumetry of the basal ganglia and the thalamus as it realtes to different pathologies
