I am a psychologist withextensive training in cognitive neuroscience. My research focuses onunderstanding and promoting functional outcomes in neurologicaldiseases associated with aging. Current projects include: Clinicaltrials of transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) as a therepeutictool in stroke rehabilitation and in neuropathic pain; improved methodsfor characterizing cognitive impairment in geriatric patients; andevaluation of cognitive rehabilitation strategies for improving humanmemory performance. Methods for measuring brain function include TMS,fMRI, and neuropsychological testing.
