Dr. med. Katrin Weier

Postdoctoral research fellow - Image Processing Lab (IPL)

I am a trained neurologist (Neurology FMH), working as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Image Processing Lab under the supervision of Dr. Louis Collins and in Collaboration with Dr. Douglas L. Arnold. My primary research interest is in structural brain imaging in Multiple Sclerosis with special focus on the cerebellum and the spinal cord. Together with Vladimir Fonov we are currently developing an automatic segmentation pipeline for the human cerebellum. My work is supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation.

Education: 1997–2004 School of Medicine at the University of Rostock and RWTH Aachen, Germany. 2005–2012 Specialist training in the Department of Neurology, University Hospital Basel, Switzerland.
