Marco Loggia, B.Sc.

Ph.D. Student -

I am a PhD student in the Neurology and Neurosurgery program at McGill, working at the McGill Centre for Research on Pain under the supervision of Dr. Cathy Bushnell. My research focuses mainly on the study of cognitive, emotional and psychosocial variables (such as attentional state, emotional context, empathy and the placebo response) affecting pain perception and pain processing in the human brain. I am also currently conducting a study on the effects of rare genetic mutations on the sensitivity to innocuous and painful thermal stimuli. In my research, I adopt psychophysical and neuroimaging (e.g. voxel-based morphometry, VBM) techniques.
