Alex Soliman, M.Sc.

Ph.D. Student -

I am a PhD student in Clinical Psychology and Neurology & Neurosurgery at McGill University, supervised by Alain Dagher at the BIC, and Blaine Ditto in the Department of Psychology. My primary interest is in the application of neuroimaging techniques to study schizophrenia and schizophrenia related disorders. Specifically, my work uses both PET dopamine imaging and fMRI to study populations at increased risk of schizophrenia by examining stress-related differences in dopamine transmission and activation of dopamine circuits of these populations. I hope this work will contribute to a better understanding of some of the physiological and environmental vulnerabilities to mental illness. “In earlier times, they had no statistics, and so they had to fall back onlies.” - STEPHEN LEACOCK
