Douglas Arnold, MD

Professor - Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy Lab

Dr. Arnold is a neurologist with special expertise in advanced MRI acquisition and analysis techniques, particularly as they relate to understanding the evolution of multiple sclerosis and neurodegeneration. Dr. Arnold combines advanced image processing techniques with conventional and non-conventional MRI acquisition techniques such as magnetization transfer imaging, magnetic resonance spectroscopy and functional MRI to understand how inflammation in MS relates to injury to myelin, the insulation around nerves, and the nerves themselves. He also uses these techniques to understand how new therapies for MS work.
