Aydin

Ümit Aydin received BSc and MSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Dokuz Eylül University (Izmir, Turkey) and Middle East Technical University (Ankara, Turkey), respectively. Then, he began his doctoral studies under the supervision of Dr. Carsten Wolters in the Institute for Biomagnetism and Biosignalanalysis at the University of Münster (Münster, Germany). As part of the cooperation between Dr. Wolters and Dr. Jens Haueisen, he received Dr.-Ing. degree from the Faculty of Computer Science and Automation at the Ilmenau University of Technology (Ilmenau, Germany). Since April 2015 he is a member of the Multimodal Functional Imaging Laboratory and he is affiliated to the Physics Department and the PERFORM Centre at Concordia University (Montreal, Canada).

Research Interests

His research focuses on multimodal integration in neuroscience. He is especially interested in high-density-EEG/fMRI and EEG/MEG combination with wavelet-based Maximum Entropy on the Mean (wMEM) techniques for studying functional connectivity patterns with special focus on presurgical epilepsy diagnosis. In addition, he is also working on MRI post-processing, accurate forward head modeling (FEM approaches) and brain stimulation techniques.
