Vera Gramigna, PhD., Postdoctoral fellow

Vera

Vera Gramigna was born in Cetraro (Italy) in 1980. In 2007 she received her master degree in Mechanical Engineerng from University of Calabria (Italy). In 2011 she obtained a Ph.D. in Biomedical and Computer Engineering discussing a thesys with title “Modeling of Cardiovascular System: Analysis of Mechanics and Fluid Dynamics, Prediction Methodology of specific diseases and Planning of Surgical Interventions”. During post-graduate period she continued entertaining interests on biorobotics at “Biorobotic Institute””-Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa, working on two projects:“Analysis of the biomechanical behavior of colon tissue: experimental and numerical approach” and “Novel biological/biohybrid prostheses for the ossicular chain: fabrication feasibility and preliminary functional characterization”. In the 2014, at the Institute of BioImaging and Molecular Physiology in Catanzaro, scientific interest has veered strongly towards the cognitive neuroscience. She is working with the team of Prof. Aldo Quattrone (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Aldo_Quattrone) on a project entitled “Multimodal Neuroimaging correlates of Motor Disorders”, under the supervision of Prof. Antonio Cerasa (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Antonio_Cerasa). She is now Post Doc Visting Scientist at McGill University. This exchange is part of the collaboration with McGill University in the context of her ongoing postdoctoral scholarship.
